Rota 2030, the new industrial policy, is expected to be a definitive boost so the national sector presents itself to the external market as a relevant competitor. Even without an official policy, at least for now, there are several ways to reach this: internationalizing operations or in- vesting to destine much of the produc- tion abroad even when the dollar does not show an advantageous relation (see page 20). And the path to the outside is not closed even for local operations of global companies. A great example of this comes from Dana, the manufacturer of transmission systems. The Brazilian operationwas cho- sen to produce a new axle shaft model, a specialty of Gravataí’s unit, RS.
